Preparation
- 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the plain flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- 2
Rub 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into the flour mixture with your fingertips until crumbly.
- 3
Gradually add 150 ml cold water, kneading gently until a smooth, pliable dough forms that does not stick to your hands.
- 4
Divide the dough into 6 equal portions, rolling each between your palms into smooth round balls and flattening slightly.
- 5
Heat canola oil in a skillet over medium-low heat until warm (around 160°C).
- 6
Add dumplings and fry slowly for 12 to 15 minutes, turning every few minutes so they cook evenly inside and turn deep golden outside.
- 7
Drain on kitchen paper and serve warm.
